More than 200 faculty members of the institure teach and guide graduate and post graduate students. They mentor the student carrers to achieve their goals. Fifteen doctorates with valuable academic experiences as principals, deans and senior pofessors from IIT, NIT, JNTU Kadinada, and JNTU Kukatpally monitor the academic and administrative activities in the institute.

GIET constantly encourages and supports faculty members to obtain higher qulifications. In this endeavour, five faculty members obtained their Ph.D from different National Institutions and Universities in the Acacemic Year 2008-2009 Nearly 30 more faculty members have registered for their Ph.D Many more faculty members are pursuing M.Tech. Improving the Carrer of individual faculty is taken as the road map for student success.

Mrs.Kiran Chaudhari, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering has been awarded "DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY " for her research work entitled "Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling of Process Technological Flows " from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, after successfully defending her thesis in january 2009

Mr.M. Anjani Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept of Civil Engineering has been awarded "Doctor of Philosophy " for his reaserch on " Performance Evaluation of Stabilized Flyash Layer in Flexible Pavement Construction " from JNTU, Kakinada in July 2009. He is the first receipient of Ph.D degree from JNTU, Kakinada under the guidance of Dr.G.V.R. Prasada Raju, Controller of Examinations, JNTU, Kakinada.

Mr.T. Srikanth, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering has been awarded "DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY " for his research work entitled "Paramentric Evaluation of Quality Turned Components through Optimization technique " from Osmania University, Hyderabad, after successfully defending his thesis May 2009.

Mr.A. Nagaraja Rao, Associate Professor, Dept of CSE, Vijaya Vikas Institute of Technology. Hyderabad has been awarded "Doctor of Philosophy " for his research work entitled "Innovation Techniques of Segmentation Methods for Texture Classification and Discrimination " from University of Mysore in June 2009, under the guidance of Dr.V.Vijaya Kumar, Dean, Dept. of CSE & IT, GIET, Rajahmundry.

Mr.B. Eswara Reddy, Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE JNTU, Anantapur has been awarded "Doctor of Philosophy " for his research work entitled "Innovative Techniques for Classification of Textures using image patterns " from JNTU, Hyderabad in May 2008, under the guidance of Dr.V.Vijaya  Kumar, Dean, Dept. of CSE & IT, GIET, Rajahmundry.
