A DISTINCT PROGRAMME ON INTERVIEW SKILLS Organized by Dept. Of English& Communication skills

The Dept of English & Communication Skills has added one more feather to the cap of achievements by conducting interviews. It is an opportunity of delight that Virtual Interviews had been conducted for the benefit of the technical aspirants like M.C.A, IV B.Tech & III B.Tech.  This innovative one week programmme of virtual interviews is well conducted under the motivating guidance  of HOD of English Dr. G.V.S Ananta Lakshmi  and English team  from 6th to 13th  September, 2011 in our Campus at Seminar Hall of  Visweswarayya Block, with a view to strengthen the spirit of  technocrats in preparing for HR round. The overall attempt of these sessions aim at visualizing the participants with professional excellence in promoting the deserved candidates for Global placements; since MNC’s recruitment drives are ahead and the aspirants need to face cut-throat competition and technical domain to prove their candidature for organizational needs of a leading company. It gives us enormous gratification to enumerate some of the highlights of conducted sessions.
Enlisting the method of conducting the interview, the quite interesting factor of this programme is, the final year students acted as panel members, the motive behind, is to get experience in both the sides of interviewee and interviewer.
In brief, two interview panels were arranged to conduct the sessions. Each panel consists of three members that include one faculty from Department of English and other faculty from other departments and each panel would be occupied by 2-2 student judges from IV year. Some of the HR questions are written on slips and each question is on two copies. The panel number is written on the rear side of the question slip and candidate went to the relevant panel.  
To let the students experience the real HR analysis, Eminent and Experienced HRs from different near by Industries and renowned organizations  are invited, i.e. Mr. E.V.G.K Sharma, DGM from A.P. Paper Mills, Kadiyam, Ms. Vydehi, Asst. Manager from GSK, RJY, P. Srinivasa Tagore and K.Ravi Sudhakar from RAK Ceramics Tanuku, P. Srinivas from I.T.C were invited who had enlightened the dos and don’ts during their performance and had given excellent inputs to the students.
To give actual and accurate feedback the entire session was video captured by the professionals  to allow the students to review back their presentation and develop their interview skills.

At the end of each session all the panel members including student judges had given their feedback which motivated the participants to know where they stand and what they have to change. Moreover, Students participated in the session with great enthusiasm and benefitted in improving their communication skills and interview skills.
