Studying for an Information Technology degree is exciting enough as it will open the doors to very cool jobs. It is truly amazing to catch the trend with GIET. Because GIET takes care to maximize the learning opportunities by keeping up-to-date and continuous with highly qualified and richly experienced faculty to meet the present requirement at global scenario. The department has state-of the art infrastructure which includes.

Information Technology Engineers Association (ITEA), established in 2007, is a body attached to this Department to look after the department-related activities to enhance the intellectual faculty of its members through project consultations, expert lectures, group interactions, seminars and paper presentations, etc. It has its own CD library. ITEAMATE is an in-house magazine published by ITEA.

Computer Society of India Student Branch is Conducting Technical and Non Technical events with the association of IT Department from the Various Industry and Educational People to enrich the technical skills and others.

Staff

The department has well-qualified and experienced faculty who are specialists in the areas of Databases, Data Mining, Operating Systems, Image Processing, Wireless Networks, Information Security and Programming Languages. There are around 40 dedicated faculty members with good amount of experience in these different areas. The faculty members are actively involved in research activities in the field of their specialization. They have published number of papers in journals and Conferences of National and International repute.

The students of the Department of Information Technology proved their talent in the campus interviews conducted by various IT companies like TCS, Capgemini and many more global IT companies. A record number of 63 students were placed from the department.
